Work for CORE: Marketing & South Australian Lead

CORE is Australia’s first and only national network of innovation hubs dedicated to accelerating the commercialisation of critical technologies across energy, resources, and related sectors. From testbeds like the Australian Automation & Robotics Precinct, to regional hubs in the Pilbara, to high-growth ecosystems in Adelaide’s Lot Fourteen, we build the infrastructure, connections, and programs that help innovators thrive.

The Role

We’re looking for a dynamic Innovation Lead to spearhead CORE’s presence in South Australia. This role blends hub management, ecosystem building, and national marketing leadership—perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of community, business development, and storytelling. You’ll lead the day-to-day operations of the CORE Hub in Adelaide, build new partnerships and revenue streams in SA, and drive our marketing and communications strategy nationally. It’s a role for a builder, connector, and communicator—someone who can grow the community, deliver impact for industry, and tell the CORE story far and wide.

Key Accountabilities

Hub & Ecosystem Management

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of CORE’s South Australian hub, including facilities, memberships, and community engagement.

  • Deliver a professional and welcoming experience for all hub users, members, and visitors.

  • Curate and facilitate events, programs, and workshops that strengthen the local ecosystem and showcase CORE’s value.

  • Build a strong pipeline of new members and ensure retention through proactive relationship management.

Business Growth & Partnerships

  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry, government, and research stakeholders across South Australia.

  • Identify and pursue commercial opportunities including sponsorship, partnerships, and grant funding.

  • Represent CORE at industry events, forums, and roundtables to raise visibility and secure new opportunities.

  • Contribute to CORE’s national growth strategy by identifying new initiatives and revenue opportunities in South Australia.

Marketing & Communications

  • Lead the development and delivery of CORE’s national marketing and communications strategy.

  • Manage content creation (web, social media, case studies, media releases) for both CORE’s brand and the Australian Automation & Robotics Precinct (AARP) which we run on behalf of the WA Government.

  • Work closely with the Hub Leads to develop and implement marketing strategies for flagship events, sponsorships, and partnerships.

  • Create marketing toolkits and resources to support Hub Leads in promoting local events and initiatives.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Growth in SA hub membership and retention rates.

  • Number and quality of new partnerships and revenue secured in South Australia.

  • Delivery of successful hub programs, events, and ecosystem initiatives.

  • National marketing and communications metrics (engagement, reach, brand recognition).

  • Contribution to CORE’s reputation as a national leader in innovation infrastructure.

Selection Criteria

We’re after someone entrepreneurial, collaborative, and commercially minded—equally comfortable running a hub, MC’ing an event, and writing a killer LinkedIn post.

Essential

  • Proven experience in marketing and business development

  • Strong stakeholder management skills across industry, government, and startups.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Familiarity with design tools, CRM systems, and digital marketing platforms.

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

  • Entrepreneurial, proactive mindset with ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Desirable

  • Understanding of energy, resources, advanced manufacturing, or technology sectors.

  • Experience managing coworking, innovation hubs, or startup spaces.
