Adelaide-based, Economical Energy’s EcoHoist is rethinking how ore is moved from underground mines.

Instead of relying on costly, diesel-powered trucks, EcoHoist uses an electrically driven bucket-elevator system that increases shaft capacity utilisation up to 24 times. This radically cuts capital costs, reduces energy use, and eliminates the bottlenecks that slow mine development.

Designed to run entirely on clean electricity, EcoHoist removes diesel from underground haulage, lowering emissions while improving air quality and safety for workers. By reducing the scale and cost of shaft excavation, it also makes deeper and smaller deposits more commercially viable—unlocking resources that are currently stranded by logistics.

With backing from global partners like ABB and recognition through innovation accelerators, Economical Energy is positioning EcoHoist as a breakthrough in mining infrastructure. It offers a scalable, future-proof alternative that supports electrification, decarbonisation, and long-term sustainability across the resources sector.
