Alex Tancock will explain their vision for a mega project in the Pilbara to export Renewable Energy into Asia. The Asian Renewable Energy Hub consortium (AREH), led by InterContinental Energy, CWP Energy Asia and global wind leader Vestas, has started work on a game changing US$10b project to sell Australian wind and solar power to Indonesia and Singapore. On a site along the remote coast of Western Australia, which is 20 times the size of Singapore, the project will co-locate 4 GW of wind power and 2 GW of solar and then export that power 2,500 km to West Java via high-voltage DC (HVDC) cables, and then onward to Singapore.
Alex Tancock, has been at the forefront of renewable energy technology and markets over the last two decades. A co-founder of InterContinental Energy in 2014, the Asian RE Hub is one of three sister projects that ICE is working on around the world. Prior to ICE, Alex founded and sold Wind Prospect (HK), helped CLP Group build its RE business in the APAC region, worked for Wind Prospect/CWP Renewables in Australia and E.ON Renewables in the UK.
