MinEx Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) Information Session

  • CORE Innovation Hub 191 St Georges Terrace Perth, WA, 6000 Australia (map)

The Australian Government’s Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) Programme supports industry-led collaboration between industry and researchers.

This session at CORE is one of a series being held nationally, and will provide information on the MinEx CRC bid and will be presented by Bid Coordinator, Prof. Richard Hillis, CEO of Deep Exploration Technologies CRC, who will be available for further discussion after the session. For further information contact Anna Porter at annaporter@detcrc.com.au.

MinEx CRC will break new ground in the discovery and definition of mineral deposits by pioneering cheap, safe and environmentally-friendly coiled tubing drilling to build a 3D picture of the subsurface.

Whether you are a miner, explorer, METS supplier, geological survey or research institution, we seek your involvement in the bid for MinEx CRC which will be submitted in July 2017. You can influence the nature and scope of MinEx CRC as the bid is developed.

For more detailed information on the MinEx CRC bid view the MinEx CRC Prospectus or contact Prof. Hillis at richard.hillis@minexcrc.com.au.

ABOUT MINEX CRC

New mineral discoveries are becoming rarer in Australia, but are critical for the long-term future of Australia’s mining industry. To address this challenge, cheaper, safer and more environmentally-friendly methods of mineral exploration under barren and deep cover rocks are needed.

With the assistance of geological surveys, MinEx CRC will deploy and analyse the results of extensive, cost-effective coiled tubing drilling to map prospective rocks under cover in the context of the National Drilling Initiative.

MinEx CRC will also further develop new greenfields coiled tubing drilling technologies in order that they are suitable for defining (drilling-out) mineral deposits. Enhanced depth, steering and sensing capabilities will permit and dramatically reduce the cost of resource definition.

MinEx CRC will also work on techniques to optimise conventional drilling techniques such as diamond drilling.

For industry and geological surveys, MinEx CRC offers the opportunity to access and develop world-class technology in a collaborative R&D environment with a very high level of gearing of your financial contribution.
