MEET THE INNOVATOR SPECIAL DOORSTOP VISIT 4:30-5:00PM

NASA Astronaut Dr Scott Parazynski,  US Astronaut Hall of Fame, is a veteran of five Space Shuttle flights and seven spacewalks and the only person to have traveled to space and climbed Mt Everest. He is also a physician and inventor and founder of seven tech startups.

We have the unique opportunity to meet Dr Parazynzki in CORE on his way to launch the Festival of the Web at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre, and hear his tips on founding tech startups, innovation and leadership.

Dr Parazynski is in Perth thanks to the Global Engineering for Excellence Centre (GEEC) as the their Global Ambassador, Festival of the Web, and the NASA Space Apps Challenge Perth which is sponsored by Woodside EnergyCOREUnearthed and Cribber.

This visit will be followed by an Information Session on the upcoming NASA SpaceApps Challenge happening at CORE from 29-30 April.

This event is free-of-charge. Registration is essential.

INFO SESSION: NASA SPACE APPS CHALLENGE 2017 5:30-6:30PM

For 48 hours, problem solvers from all over the world join NASA’s International Space Apps Challenge, one of the largest hackathons in the universe. Last year the NASA space apps challenge had participants from 6 continents and 161 cities. A Perth team reached the global top 25 which is kind of a big deal!

NASA Scientists write the challenges, which are based on real problems they face daily. All passionate problem solvers are encouraged to join - students, experts, engineers, makers, artists, storytellers, Space Apps is for everyone. It is a great opportunity to share and develop your skills, plus winning projects have the chance to be seen and potentially acquired by NASA themselves, and some great prizes to be won.

NASA Space Apps Challenge is free-of-charge. Register now.
