Young Energy Professionals Perth invite you to hear from Andrew Want, Director of RenewableHydrogen Pty Ltd, on opportunities for exporting renewable energy through chemical storage. With the plunging cost of renewables and the growing demand for clean energy in Asia, Andrew will speak to YEP members about Australia's chance to become a global solar energy powerhouse.
Asia is set for rapid growth in demand for clean energy - industry, power generation and transportation all need to rapidly decarbonise and to reduce reliance on oil supplies, cities need to improve air quality. Australia has the immense solar, wind and land resources to meet this demand.
At the same time, technologies are now available for storage and transportation of renewable energy in bulk, at large industrial scale - just as with oil and gas. The age of liquid renewable fuels may be imminent. Andrew will lay out the whole-of-supply-chain opportunities, from engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), and the multi-billion dollar market this has the potential to create.
Andrew Want is the Principal of private investment company Rounding Mark Pty Ltd, and is an experienced board director, chairman, CEO and former lawyer.
