CORE Network Partner the Young Energy Professionals (WA) in cooperation with the Australian Institute of Energy (AIE) invite you to hear from Cameron Parrotte about the System Black Event which took place in South Australia on 28 September 2016.
Cameron will shed light on the chain of events that caused this black out from the pre-event situation, including weather warnings, system set-up decisions, to the actual weather outcomes. Cameron will explain what happened and how it occurred by following the causation chain of the event on the day. He will also explore the post-event actions taken by the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) to restore the supply. We look forward to Cameron sharing the learning from the investigations and the follow up actions required to prevent a similar event in the future.
