Subsea Energy Australia (SEA) is a not-for-profit industry association that aims to promote Australian subsea capabilities to local, regional and global markets.

Formed in 2008 as a collaborative initiative between the WA Department of Commerce and key stakeholders from the Australian subsea supply chain, SEA is now in its seventh year of operation and has matured into a fully industry-led peak body representing organisations across the entire subsea sector.

By providing opportunities for networking, training and collaboration, SEA connects and unites the subsea industry. With a member base of over 60 organisations, they also provide guidance and advice to companies considering entrance and expanding in the subsea arena.

CORE affords a base for SEA at the right end of town for oil and gas. As SEA is led by its Board of voluntary industry professionals who all work from their respective company offices, the partnership with CORE was a welcome development in the evolution of the association.

In turn, SEA is leveraging its extensive network into the space and has been very active in hosting several wide-reaching events at CORE, including webinars, networking events, and board meetings.

As an industry association dedicated to growing the Australian subsea sector by connecting, supporting and promoting member organisations, SEA has compatible interests with the resources innovation hub.

Therefore, it made sense for CORE to sponsor the new enterprise category at SEA’s Business Awards last month, with the winner PSM Subsea receiving a hot desk at CORE.

Up next for SEA is Australasian Oil & Gas Exhibition & Conference (AOG), Subsea Forum which will take place in Perth from 22 – 24 February 2017.
