About SpaceApps

Space Apps is an international hackathon that occurs over 48 hours in cities around the world. Part of the Open Government Partnership, Space Apps is an annual event that pulls citizens together regardless of their background or skill level.

Don't let the name fool you... it's not just about apps! Tackle a challenge using robotics, data visualization, hardware, design and many other specialties! Inspire each other while you learn and create using stories, code, design and, most of all, YOUR ideas. Show us your problem-solving skills and share your talents with the world!

Mainstage Announcement: “The Rocket City”, Huntsville, Alabama, USA

Each year, the Mainstage location serves as the central hub from which Space Apps leadership interacts with Space Apps celebrations around the world. This year’s global Mainstage event will be in Huntsville, Alabama, USA, known for its close association with space exploration and for being home to NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center

How it works

Participants will organise into project teams to work on solving one of the specific challenges issued by NASA. Teams utilise publicly available NASA data to design all kinds of innovative solutions to the set Challenges. Any project teams get to pitch their solutions at the end of the weekend and there are some great prizes up for grabs. Plus up to two teams from the Perth competition can be selected to participate in the global judging.

To register, create a profile on the spaceappschallenge.org website, and will then register for the Perth Hackathon HERE.
