It all started with Proposal for GRAS Energy (consulting firm), now it has evolved to Energy Storage Consortium WA. Anastasiia is working on identifying first members and partners now.
How did your startup/business journey begin?
In March 2018 I’ve joined SmartSeeds Innovation program run by GHD with amazing team of talented and intelligent innovators ready to break the rules and change the status quo. Over the weeks we looked at SWIS and potential solutions to enable Clean, Reliable, Affordable, Stable and Secure future of Energy in WA, proposing to change the rules in Wholesale Electricity Market, creating revenue streams for Energy Storage.
The new rules are finally coming. New market design creates opportunities to better meet power system needs by bringing diverse mix of storage to SWIS.
What are you working on at the moment?
I’m investigating the interest and demand around cross-industry collaboration and learning – Energy Storage Consortium WA. Member based organisation that would become an important connector in establishing a strong ecosystem encompassing all stages of energy storage product development and use.
What are you most looking forward to as part of CORE Sprint?
Opportunity to pitch my MVP at the end of the program.
Can you share with us one of your favourite success stories from your business journey so far?
Energy Storage is a vital technology solution for enabling sustainable energy use and to address climate change.
By promoting Energy Storage I’m promoting future grids with more Renewables and less emissions. I’m really pleased how the market responds to the invitations to a conversation. It’s exactly what I’m seeking – more people involved in conversation, in action. There wasn’t a single business or person I’ve reached out to that said: ‘Sorry, we don’t believe that the requirement for energy storage will grow’. I guess the question remaining is how do we deploy more storage and spend less money now, that’s where Energy Storage Consortium WA can play a role.
How have you adapted post COVID-19?
I started looking at this idea in August 2020.
What is one interesting thing about you? (A hobby, something you love, something curious that no one would expect!)
I’m a strong chess player. Dare to challenge me.
