CORE receives funding to fast track strategic pathways for new energy resources enterprise

CORE Innovation Hub is the proud recipient of an Australian Federal Government grant that will allow us to better serve our greater community, support the growth of our technology incubators, provide direct value across the entire industry value chain and increase the chances of success for innovative energy and resources technology startups in international markets.

The grant is part of the Incubator Support Initiative, an element of the Entrepreneurs Program that aims to assist Australian startups in developing their capabilities to achieve commercial success and advance Australia’s innovation ecosystem.

CORE’s Incubator Support Program will involve over one hundred activities and initiatives for the CORE Perth and future CORE Brisbane markets. For the uninitiated, CORE is Australia’s first coworking, collaboration and innovation hub dedicated to the energy and resources sector, which is currently based in Perth CBD, and imminently in Brisbane CBD. It is our mission at CORE to deliver proximity to skills, solutions and opportunity along the supply chain, and a culture of entrepreneurship, open innovation, trust, collaboration and commercialisation of digital technologies into the sector, which we will be able to fast track thanks to the Incubator Support Program.

The program will allow us to run several initiatives, such as our CORE Start Awards, which provides two startups per quarter access to CORE’s coworking facilities, industry facilitation and support, plus industry and business development experts and mentors. CORE Start Global will extend this successful program internationally, providing six high growth CORE member startups with short-term stays in global resources and energy hubs in across the globe, where CORE has established partnerships with like-minded spaces and industry leaders. A key component of the CORE Start Awards is pitching your company to a panel, so in order to best prepare our community for success, we will run Pitch@CORE sessions throughout the year.

The grant will also enable CORE to continue delivering on key aspects of our community experience by expanding on our Meet the Innovator series, bringing the invite-only CORE Alumni Networking event into fruition, and building on the success of our 2018 CORE Startup Exchange and Bootcamp sessions for 2019.

In addition, we will launch CORE Startup Growth, a new knowledge-building Masterclass series with three high-quality seminars a year on targeted startup growth, business development and commercialisation needs, and establish the CORE Resources Founders Pre-Accelerator, a dedicated program for prospective female founders of resources and energy technology startups, along with so much more.

We are delighted to have received funding for CORE’s Incubator Support Program and look forward to sharing our progress in delivering these exciting initiatives that will boost the growth and competitiveness of new and existing Australian energy resources technology enterprise.

CORE is looking for industry leaders to partner with us in the delivery of Incubator Support Program activities. Please reach out to CORE Innovation Hub General Manager Aaron Schier for more information about how we can collaborate and the opportunities available via email:
