CORE members Austmine have received Federal funding to create a METS Export Hub in Victoria. The Export Hub will be aimed at granting SME’s and startups more opportunities to access international markets.
Speaking about the announcement, Austmine’s CEO Christine Gibbs Stewart said, “We are thrilled to announce the launch of the first dedicated METS Export Hub in Victoria.”
“The Hub will strengthen the competitive positioning of the sector and create export-focussed METS companies through building capabilities to address emerging needs of customers, facilitating knowledge sharing within a strong METS cohort and providing the skills needed to export.”
A key priority for the Hub will be to improve the competitive positioning of regional SMEs on a global scale. It will operate across five regions of mining expertise in Ballarat, Bendigo, Stawell, the La Trobe Valley and Geelong. These regions will be linked with support and resources in metropolitan centres and international nodes.
